Upcoming Events and General Announcements
Flip a burger, get a smile! Temple Israel is hosting a BBQ for homeless youth THIS TUESDAY, and there are several ways we can be involved. Read this announcement from the Outreach Commission, and get your grill on!
Our annual School Supply Drive for Jefferson Community School has begun. Pick up a shopping list in the Narthex, or click here to read the details. Donations will be collected on the large table in the Nathex for the remaining Sundays in August.
Further Painting Project news from your Vestry! Read about our next steps forward here.
Gift Cards for God: Bring your unused gift cards to the church over the next few week and help us listen to our neighbors. The New Vision Committee is ready to send out our community survey to our neighbors, and your gift cards will help entice our neighbors to provide feedback. Any gift card will do, so long as it can be used locally or online.
Registration for August’s Commission Saturday is now open! Join us on 18 August from 8:30am-1pm for commission meetings, crafting our parish mission and vision statements, and articulating our core values. If you serve on a Commission or not, have ideas about ministry, or want to get more deeply involved with Saint Paul’s, this event is for YOU! Register online or on paper (available in the Beim Neighborhood House).
Meetings of Saint Paul’s Vestry are open to all who wish to attend. The next meeting will be Monday, 20 August at 7:00pm in the Thurston Conference Room. Minutes of past meetings will be on our website soon; until that time, you can find a reference copy of all approved minutes in a box across form the Rector’s office, in the Resources box, or by contacting the Clerk of the Vestry, Jeff Gosnell.
Confirmation Registration: If your child age 12-18 and wishes to deepen their faith and learn more about the Episcopal Church, please contact Father Marcus and let him know. Our next class will be confirmed by Bishop Prior in May 2019.
Community Coffice™ Hours in July and August will be held at Dunn Brothers Coffee on Wednesdays 10am-3pm. Join Father Marcus for coffee and conversation, on any topic! Drop in or set an appointment (private meetings can be scheduled with the Rector).
Prayer Calendar
In the Diocesan Cycle of Prayer, we pray for all hospital chaplaincies, counseling chaplaincies, and Spiritual Directors throughout the Episcopal Church in Minnesota; for our faith community nurses, health ministers, and all those who minister to the sick; and for all farmers and laborers working with the harvest, especially San Jose Obrero Mission in Montgomery. We also pray for the parishes of Saint Mary (Basswood Grove, Ely, Saint Paul).
On our Parish Prayer List, we pray for Adeline, Alex, Anna and Steve, Bob, Dianne, Eva, Greg, Harvey, Jennie Beth, Joan, John, Karen, Kate, Katherine, Krista, Laura, Liz, Mary, Nancy, Natalia, Norman, Pat and Steve, Philip, Richard, Sue, Susan, and the Coopergard, del Caro Scaia, and Paulson families.
We also pray for the repose of the soul of Christopher James Ross, son of Jim Ross; may he rest in peace and rise in glory.
