Serve
Saint Paul’s Church is deeply committed to being the hands and feet of Christ in the world, serving those whom Christ served and proclaiming the justice and compassion that reveal the Kingdom of God. The words that we recite at each baptism – the Baptismal Covenant – encourages us to “seek and serve Christ in all persons” and “strive for justice and peace among all people.” Our Faith in Action Commission helps to coordinate Saint Paul’s outreach and mission activity in our local community through ongoing partnerships and individual initiatives.
Saint Paul’s Church concentrates our initiatives in these main areas:
- Support and advocacy for people experiencing homelessness.
- Support and advocacy for people experiencing hunger and food insecurity.
- Spread of literacy.
Regular involvement at Saint Paul’s includes:
- Open Arms
- YouthLink
- Downtown Congregations Ending Homeless
- Annual School Supply Drive for Jefferson Community School
- Weekly collection of food for the Joyce Upton Foodshelf
We also regularly pack and distribute blessing bags for our neighbors experiencing homelessness. These bags include basic necessities such as socks, toothbrush and toothpaste, handwarmers (in the winter), granola bars, bottles of water, bus tokens, and more.
