The Reverend Marcus Halley

“The heart of the Gospel is not a passive welcome where we wait for folks are are hungry to find us, but an active and vibrant welcome where we go out and show people where the bountiful feast of the Lord is spread.”

These passions can be found in writings and other contributions for such organizations as Grow Christians and the Logos Project

The Reverend Marcus Halley is the 18th Rector of Saint Paul’s Church on Lake of the Isles in Minneapolis, MN.

A native North Carolinian, Fr. Marcus comes to St. Paul’s after serving as the Pastor for Young Adults and Families at St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church in Kansas City, Missouri in the Diocese of West Missouri. He is a graduate of Johnson C. Smith University (Charlotte, NC), the Interdenominational Theological Center (Atlanta, GA), and the School of Theology at the University of the South (Sewanee, TN.)  Prior to ordination as an Episcopal priest, Fr. Marcus served as a pastoral resident at Emory University Hospital – Midtown in Atlanta, Georgia.

Among Fr. Marcus’ ministry passions are Christian Faith Formation (knowing our stories) and Evangelism (sharing our stories.)  At the heart of his ministry is “welcome.”

When not actively engaged in the day-to-day tasks of ministry, Fr. Marcus can be found running, writing, or spending time with his beloved beagle, DuBois (doo-BOYSS).

Jesus said to her,
"I am the resurrection and the life."
