Prayer Calendar

In the Anglican Cycle of Prayer, we pray for the Province of the Episcopal Church of Sudan.

In the Diocesan Cycle of Prayer, we pray for the Episcopal Homes of Minnesota, Episcopal Group Homes, Guardian Angels, all other institutions that do ministry for and with the elderly, and local senior residential facilities and care centers. Please pray also for the 162nd Convention of the Episcopal Church in Minnesota to be held next weekend in Bloomington. We also pray for the parish of the Good Samaritan (Sauk Centre).

Pray for migrants, refugees, and displaced people throughout the world. Pray also for those in our country who have been taught to fear or hate people different than they are.

We are asked to reflect and devote prayers in honor and appreciation of 400 years of African American history and culture. Read more about this anniversary request from our Presiding Bishop.

Our Parish Prayer List can be found here.
If you wish to be visited by a member of our Pastoral Care Team (including our rector or deacon), request prayers for yourself or someone else on the Parish Prayer List, or simply make someone aware of an acute or ongoing need, please e-mail care@stpaulsmpls.org.

This list is maintained to assist you in praying for the parish and the larger community throughout the week. To add your friend or loved one to this list, e-mail Deacon Barbara with your request and any additional details: barbara@stpaulsmpls.org. Your request will be shared with our pastoral care team, as well as Saint Paul’s clergy.

Hands to Service

Groveland and Joyce Uptown Food Shelves joyfully receive Saint Paul’s weekly donations. Our theme for September will be foods from other lands. Please bring items to church as part of your weekly offering, and place in baskets in the Narthex. Can you be our delivery driver for September? Contact Laurie Larsen to serve in this capacity.

Step up to the Food Shelf Challenge: Bring NINE items in over the course of the ninth month – let’s fill the baskets each week!!

Saint Paul’s at Open Arms: A volunteer team is being assembled for outreach on 14 September, 10am-noon. We will be working in the Open Arms kitchen chopping vegetables, preparing and portioning entrees, and packaging completed meals – it is easy, fun, and rewarding work! Please sign up on the sheet posted on the bulletin board located outside the Nursery.

General Announcements

The courtyard will be inaccessible for the next week or so while repairs are being made to the church’s heating system. Thank you for your patience.

Are you trying to discern a faithful response to the current migrant and refugee crisis our country is facing? Read these suggestions by Father Marcus.

We have one vacant rental space remaining in the Beim House. If you know of a non-profit organization in need of space, please contact Junior Warden Beth Carlson.

Have you taken a Faith Formation class at Saint Paul’s? Never taken one, but have ideas or needs? Please take a moment to fill out this anonymous survey and help us create interesting, helpful, and innovative class offerings. Paper copies of the survey can be found in the Parish House.

Consider a donation of flowers to enhance the beauty of the Sunday liturgy. You may select a specific date from 16 June through 30 October, and your memorial will be printed in the announcements. Suggested donation for two vases of flowers is $45. Please speak with Kathy Kullberg of your request, then write a check to Saint Paul’s, noting Altar Guild flowers and the date.

The Episcopal House of Prayer in the City invites all to join for their weekly Contemplative Prayer Practice each Monday at 6:30pm in the Auxiliary Classroom. If you are new and would like an orientation, feel free to come at 6:00pm
