Homecoming Sunday begins our program year with a festive liturgy at 10:00 am featuring the return of the Parish Choir from summer hiatus, the baptism of Lillian Fanous, and the blessing of students’ and teachers’ school bags (please bring yours!). Following the liturgy join us for a cookout and lawn games, weather permitting. Use our Facebook event page to extend an invitation to friends. We look forward to seeing you there!

In the Anglican Cycle of Prayer, we pray for the Province of the Episcopal Church of Sudan.
In the Diocesan Cycle of Prayer, we pray for the Episcopal Homes of Minnesota, Episcopal Group Homes, Guardian Angels, all other institutions that do ministry for and with the elderly, and local senior residential facilities and care centers. Please pray also for the 162nd Convention of the Episcopal Church in Minnesota to be held next weekend in Bloomington. We also pray for the parish of the Good Samaritan (Sauk Centre).
Pray for migrants, refugees, and displaced people throughout the world. Pray also for those in our country who have been taught to fear or hate people different than they are.
We are asked to reflect and devote prayers in honor and appreciation of 400 years of African American history and culture. Read more about this anniversary request from our Presiding Bishop.

Groveland and Joyce Uptown Food Shelves joyfully receive Saint Paul’s weekly donations. Our theme for September will be foods from other lands. Please bring items to church as part of your weekly offering, and place in baskets in the Narthex. Can you be our delivery driver for September? Contact Laurie Larsen to serve in this capacity.
Step up to the Food Shelf Challenge: Bring NINE items in over the course of the ninth month – let’s fill the baskets each week!!
Saint Paul’s at Open Arms: A volunteer team is being assembled for outreach on 14 September, 10am-noon. We will be working in the Open Arms kitchen chopping vegetables, preparing and portioning entrees, and packaging completed meals – it is easy, fun, and rewarding work! Please sign up on the sheet posted on the bulletin board located outside the Nursery.

Suggested donation for two vases of flowers is $45. Please speak with Kathy Kullberg of your request, then write a check to Saint Paul’s, noting Altar Guild flowers and the date.
The Episcopal House of Prayer in the City invites all to join for their weekly Contemplative Prayer Practice each Monday at 6:30pm in the Auxiliary Classroom. If you are new and would like an orientation, feel free to come at 6:00pm
