Prayer Calendar

In the Anglican Cycle of Prayer, we pray for L’Eglise Anglicane du Rwanda.

In the Diocesan Cycle of Prayer, we pray for all academic graduates, all educational institutions, and for the specialized chaplaincies in those institutions: remember especially ECMN’s School for Formation, Breck School, and Shattuck-Saint Mary’s and their chaplains; University Episcopal Community; and all those who work with campus ministries.

Saint Paul’s weekly Parish Prayer List can be found here. If you wish to be contacted by a member of our Pastoral Care Team and/or priest, request prayers for yourself or someone else on the Parish Prayer List, or simply make someone aware of an acute or ongoing need, click the blue button below.

The Pastoral Care Team has a request for all: Take a few minutes every day to call someone to see how they are doing – to reach out and say a prayer with them and/or find out if they need anything. If there are those who need help, please let us know and we will figure out how to assist; if you are that person, please reach out to Reverend Ramona or Pat Trumbull. As Jesus said: Love one another.

Virtual Pilgrimage to Iona: It took Saint Columba several attempts to land his boat on the Isle of Iona – so it is now with us! Our virtual pilgrimage is being postponed to a later date; watch this space for more details. Apologies to those who attempted the journey last Tuesday.

15 May – Our Imagine Beloved Communityconversation continues in the Chapel following the liturgy. All are welcome to listen to and participate in a discussion of the emerging Beloved Community economy. More information can be read here.

Faith in Action

The Ukraine Crisis Response Fund is still accepting donations to aid those displaced by the Russian aggression. Donate here.

Saint Paul’s Little Library continues to be very popular with our neighbors, and the warmer the weather, the busier it becomes! Do you have any books you would be willing to donate to the library? We especially need newer titles in adult fiction and children’s picture books. Your donations can be placed in the red Books for Africa bin by the elevator on the ground floor, or by the red bookcase across the hall from the kitchen.

This is an important way we can connect with our neighbors, and your donations are very appreciated!

Resettlement Update 4/28:
Our sponsored family from Afghanistan is making their house a home! Colorful living room pillows will make the space inviting. Click to check the updated online shopping list.

Welcome to Minnesota: The Commission for the Diaconate, and all ECMN deacons along with Bishop Loya are inviting all faith communities within the ECMN to take part in Advent for Afghanistan: Welcoming Our Newest Neighborscontinue reading

Food Shelf Challenge:
May’s theme is CANNED FISH/MEAT/PROTEINS. Spring is here -really it is- and it’s time to make tuna salad! Or chicken salad. Or bean salad…
You can drop off your shelf-stable protein donations in the baskets in the Narthex, and they will be delivered to our local food shelf partners. Contact
Laurie Larsenwith questions.

A message from Joyce Uptown Food Shelf:

“Monetary donations are welcome! Right now we are doing a prepackaged food model, and so have a need for specific items. We can purchase food at our food banks much cheaper than you can purchase food right now: for every $1.00 donated we can purchase about $2.20 worth of food.”

Please visit their website and look for the yellow DONATE button on the home page.

YouthLink now has a wish list on Amazon for direct purchasing of needed items. If this is a more convenient option for you to help them, visit their list here.

General Announcements

Hop on board the Meal Train: Our long-time bookkeeper Brad continues his battle with cancer. (Earlier this year he was also hospitalized with COVID-19, then pneumonia – not an easy road.) He lives alone, doesn’t cook, and has reached out requesting assistance with meals; a single delivery each week will help immensely! Visit the Meal Train site here to bring Brad a meal, or contact Laurie at 612-829-1348 with questions.
Attention Ministers in Liturgy: Please help us fill gaps in coverage for the month of May! Visit your Google sheetto sign up for a position or two. If you’d like to host the Hospitality table at coffee hour (it couldn’t be easier!), sign up on the same sheet; instructions will be emailed.
Banned Books 101: Does a discussion of this controversial topic –including why some books are being placed on a “banned” list, what those books are, and the precedence of this action– pique your interest? Please let Rev. Janet know if you’d like to be a part of a three-session exploration.
Get a jump on summertime fun – check out thisinvitation from Bishop Loya to Episcopal Night with the MN Twins! Find more details and a link to order tickets on the event flyer.
Rev. Ramona’s office hours: Mon 12:30-3:30pm, Wed 11am-3pm. Other times, including evenings, are available by appointment. Please schedule via e-mail or call 612.201.6634 (cell). For pastoral emergencies, please phone or text at any time.
If you know a parishioner who would benefit from receiving our weekly E-pistle newsletter via snail mail in printed form, please email Angie.
Do you have an announcement for next week’s E-pistle? Submit your announcement online to the E-pistle, or call Angie at 612-483-4187 by noon on Thursdays.

Pastoral Care

The Pastoral Care Team has a request for all: as we practice our social distancing, do not let that extend to social isolation. Take a few minutes every day to call someone to see how they are doing – to reach out and say a prayer with them and/or find out if they need anything. One of the things that is so important right now is to connect with our community. If there are those who need help, please let us know and we will figure out how to assist; if you are that person, please reach out to Deacon Janet or Pat Trumbull. As Jesus said: Love one another.
