In the Diocesan Cycle of Prayer, we pray for all academic graduates, all educational institutions, and for the specialized chaplaincies in those institutions: remember especially ECMN’s School for Formation, Breck School, and Shattuck-Saint Mary’s and their chaplains; University Episcopal Community; and all those who work with campus ministries.

Saint Paul’s Little Library continues to be very popular with our neighbors, and the warmer the weather, the busier it becomes! Do you have any books you would be willing to donate to the library? We especially need newer titles in adult fiction and children’s picture books. Your donations can be placed in the red Books for Africa bin by the elevator on the ground floor, or by the red bookcase across the hall from the kitchen.

This is an important way we can connect with our neighbors, and your donations are very appreciated!

May’s theme is CANNED FISH/MEAT/PROTEINS. Spring is here -really it is- and it’s time to make tuna salad! Or chicken salad. Or bean salad…
You can drop off your shelf-stable protein donations in the baskets in the Narthex, and they will be delivered to our local food shelf partners. Contact Laurie Larsenwith questions.

A message from Joyce Uptown Food Shelf:

“Monetary donations are welcome! Right now we are doing a prepackaged food model, and so have a need for specific items. We can purchase food at our food banks much cheaper than you can purchase food right now: for every $1.00 donated we can purchase about $2.20 worth of food.”

Hop on board the Meal Train: Our long-time bookkeeper Brad continues his battle with cancer. (Earlier this year he was also hospitalized with COVID-19, then pneumonia – not an easy road.) He lives alone, doesn’t cook, and has reached out requesting assistance with meals; a single delivery each week will help immensely! Attention Ministers in Liturgy: Please help us fill gaps in coverage for the month of May! Visit your Google sheetto sign up for a position or two. If you’d like to host the Hospitality table at coffee hour (it couldn’t be easier!), sign up on the same sheet; instructions will be emailed.

Banned Books 101: Does a discussion of this controversial topic –including why some books are being placed on a “banned” list, what those books are, and the precedence of this action– pique your interest? Please let Rev. Janet know if you’d like to be a part of a three-session exploration.
