This Sunday at Saint Paul's

But who can endure the day of his coming,
and who can stand when he appears?
     Malachi 3:2

Ninteenth Sunday after Pentecost

The Eucharist for Advent II will be celebrated from our altar at 10:00am; it will also be livestreamed on Zoom (see link above) and archived for one week on our YouTube channel.

The Giving Tree is loaded with gift wishes from residents of Southside Care Center, as well as opportunities to show appreciation to their hard-working staff. Grab a gift tag before they’re gone! Details are in the right sidebar under OUR FAITH IN ACTION.

Don’t forget your Advent Bag each Sunday! Place donations into the bins found in the Narthex, then take your bag home for next week. Requests this week: dried beans, flour/masa, rice, pasta, salt, vegetable oil.

An organ recital will be offered this afternoon by organist Graeme Shieldsat 4:00pm. The program can be seen here, and a preview of the first selection can be seen on YouTube (first movement). This is a free event and open to the public; masking is required.

Prayer Calendar

In the Anglican Cycle of Prayer, we pray for the Anglican Church of Burundi.

In the Diocesan Cycle of Prayer, we pray for the foundations which minister to children with special needs–especially for the work of the Sheltering Arms Foundation–and for all who work in child protection agencies throughout the state of Minnesota. We also pray for the parishes of Saint Nicholas (Richfield) and of the Advent (Farmington).

Saint Paul’s weekly Parish Prayer List can be found here. If you wish to be contacted by a member of our Pastoral Care Team and/or priest, request prayers for yourself or someone else on the Parish Prayer List, or simply make someone aware of an acute or ongoing need, click the blue button below.

A message from Joyce Uptown Food Shelf:

“Monetary donations are welcome! Right now we are doing a prepackaged food model, and so have a need for specific items. We can purchase food at our food banks much cheaper than you can purchase food right now: for every $1.00 donated we can purchase about $2.20 worth of food.”

Please visit their website and look for the yellow DONATEbutton on the home page.

We are seeking a few fine hosts for our Coffee Hour table after the liturgies – minimal commitment, maximum fun! Sign up on the MIL Google sheet, or speak with Jacob Manier to choose your Sunday/s to share hospitality with those gathered.

Pastoral Care

The Pastoral Care Team has a request for all: as we practice our social distancing, do not let that extend to social isolation. Take a few minutes every day to call someone to see how they are doing – to reach out and say a prayer with them and/or find out if they need anything. One of the things that is so important right now is to connect with our community. If there are those who need help, please let us know and we will figure out how to assist; if you are that person, please reach out to Deacon Janet or Pat Trumbull. As Jesus said: Love one another.
