This Sunday at Saint Paul's

Do not neglect to show hospitality to strangers, for by doing that some have entertained angels without knowing it.  Hebrews 13:2

Ninteenth Sunday after Pentecost

Celebrate the Eucharist with us at 10:00AM from Saint Paul’s altar; the service will also be livestreamed on Zoom (see instructions above). You can view or download the bulletin here.

Join us in the Undercroft following the liturgy for a tour of our renovation progress!

This is also the final Sunday to collect donations for our School Supply Drive for Ella Baker Magnet School.

Prayer Calendar

In the Anglican Cycle of Prayer, we pray for the Anglican Church in Aotearoa, New Zealand, and Polynesia.

In the Diocesan Cycle of Prayer, we pray for all hospital chaplaincies, counseling chaplaincies, and Spiritual Directors throughout ECMN; our faith community nurses, health ministers, and all those who minister to the sick; and for all farmers and laborers working with the harvest, especially San Jose Obrero Mission in Montgomery. We also pray for the parish of Saint Bartholomew (Bemidji).

Saint Paul’s weekly Parish Prayer List can be found here. If you wish to be contacted by a member of our Pastoral Care Team and/or priest, request prayers for yourself or someone else on the Parish Prayer List, or simply make someone aware of an acute or ongoing need, click the blue button below.

Faith in Action

*NEW* This year’s school supply donations list for Ella Baker Magnet School (formerly Jefferson Community School) can be placed in baskets in the Narthex on Sundays, and will also be received curbside during August’s Collection Saturday; deadline is Sunday 28 August. Contact Angie with questions.

Food Shelf Challenge:
August’s theme is BEANS
 – canned or dried, pintos, black, or green, or whatever your shelf-stable interpretation. Each week place your beans in the basket in the Narthex. Email Laurie (or call 612-849-1348) to help with delivery to the site of your choice.A message from Joyce Uptown Food Shelf:
“We can purchase food at our food banks much cheaper than you can purchase food right now: for every $1.00 donated we can purchase about $2.20 worth of food.”  Please visit their websiteand click the DONATE button on the home page.
Saint Paul’s Little Library: We are now in a good position for summer, typically our busiest season; however, our Little Library and Books for Africa always need recent adult fiction and children’s picture books.
The Ukraine Crisis Response Fund is still accepting donations to aid those displaced by the Russian invasion. Donate here.
YouthLink now has a wish list on Amazon for direct purchasing of needed items. If this is a more convenient option for you to help them, visit their list here.

And the king will answer them, “Truly I tell you, just as you did it to one of the least of these who are members of my family, you did it to me.”
Matthew 25:40

Pastoral Care

The Pastoral Care Team has a request for all: as we practice our social distancing, do not let that extend to social isolation. Take a few minutes every day to call someone to see how they are doing – to reach out and say a prayer with them and/or find out if they need anything. One of the things that is so important right now is to connect with our community. If there are those who need help, please let us know and we will figure out how to assist; if you are that person, please reach out to Deacon Janet or Pat Trumbull. As Jesus said: Love one another.
