This Sunday at Saint Paul's

Faithful Innovation Question for the Third Sunday of Easter: Tilling the Soil

This Sunday we will hear Luke’s account of Jesus on the road to Emmaus, where he encounters his disciples who do not recognize him. We learn their eyes were opened to who he really was as they broke bread together. A beloved fraction anthem in our Epiiscopal tradition begins,
“Be known to us, Lord Jesus, in the reaking of the bread…”

Where is Jesus made known to you at Saint Paul’s?

Prayer Calendar

In the Anglican Cycle of Prayer, we pray for The Episcopal Church in Jerusalem and the Middle East.

In the Diocesan Cycle of Prayer, we pray for the work of the House of Prayer and all spiritual directors serving in the Episcopal Church in Minnesota. We pray also for the parish of Saint Philip (Rice Lake).

Our weekly Parish Prayer List can be found here. If you wish to be visited by a member of our Pastoral Care Team and/or deacon, request prayers for yourself or someone else on the Parish Prayer List, or simply make someone aware of an acute or ongoing need, click the blue button below.

The Pastoral Care Team has a request for all: as we practice our social distancing, do not let that extend to social isolation. Take a few minutes every day to call someone to see how they are doing – to reach out and say a prayer with them and/or find out if they need anything. One of the things that is so important right now is to connect with our community. If there are those who need help, please let us know and we will figure out how to do that. If you are that person, please inform Deacon Barbara or Pat Trumbull. As Jesus said: Love one another.

Faith in Action

A message from Joyce Uptown Food Shelf:

“To focus our efforts on safely serving our community and to conserve volunteer and staff resources we are asking individuals and organizations to please refrain from bringing food donations to the Foodshelf at this time. Many faith groups and other organizations are collecting donations as part of MN Foodshare Month, we are asking that you hold the donations at your site temporarily. Monetary donations for us to buy food from foodbanks are needed. Monetary donations help us buy the specific foods we need in bulk from our foodbanks to use for our prepacked bags.”

I will lift up the cup of salvation
and call upon the name of the Lord.

Psalm 116:13

Curious about the online giving graphics you’re seeing on Saint Paul’s communications? Read all about them here, then click on the blue graphic at the bottom of the E-pistle to see how easy and pain-free your support of Saint Paul’s can be!
Is there a hymn or song you’re particularly longing to hear as part of our Bridge of Song playlist (see current video link in sidebar)? Your requests are welcome, and may be e-mailed to Jacob Manier

A message from Bishop Elect Loya can be viewed here.

The Building Research Committee shared a progress report with the Vestry on 3 April. The Vestry was very impressed with the thoroughness, thoughtfulness, and detail that was shared. They have researched zoning regulations, Episcopal Church of Minnesota (ECMN) requirements and support, and building option ideas brought forth from parish members and from within their committee. The Vestry unanimously supported their request to share their report at our next All-Parish Meeting on 26 April.

We have spaces to let in our lovely Beim House for several officing tenants. If you know of any professional or organization looking to relocate, contact Senior Warden Beth Carlson.
