Prayer Calendar

In the Anglican Cycle of Prayer, we pray for Christians in other denominations, and the work of the ecumenical movement.

In the Diocesan Cycle of Prayer, we pray for the Bishop and Ministers in ECMN; the foundations which minister to children with special needs, especially Sheltering Arms Foundation; and all who work with child protection agencies throughout the state of Minnesota. We also pray for the parish of the Nativity (Burnsville).

Longtime Saint Paul’s parishioner and chorister Sue Krueger died last Thursday morning. A funeral service with Holy Eucharist was held at Saint Paul’s Friday, 20 December, at 2:00pm.
Join me in giving thanks today for the life of Sue. Please hold her husband, Dick, and all who mourn her passing, in your prayers.

Rest eternal grant to Sue, O Lord, and let light perpetual shine upon her.
May her soul, and the souls of all the departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace.

Faithfully,
Deacon Barbara

Pray for migrants, refugees, and displaced people throughout the world. Pray also for those in our country who have been taught to fear or hate people different than they are.

We are asked to reflect and devote prayers in honor and appreciation of 400 years of African American history and culture. Read more about this anniversary request from our Presiding Bishop.

Our Parish Prayer List can be found here.
If you wish to be visited by a member of our Pastoral Care Team (including our rector or deacon), request prayers for yourself or someone else on the Parish Prayer List, or simply make someone aware of an acute or ongoing need, please e-mail care@stpaulsmpls.org.

This list is maintained to assist you in praying for the parish and the larger community throughout the week. To add your friend or loved one to this list, e-mail Deacon Barbara with your request and any additional details: barbara@stpaulsmpls.org. Your request will be shared with our pastoral care team, as well as Saint Paul’s clergy.

Our votive candle stand is a beautiful symbol of our collective prayers coming into the light of Christ. When you light a votive, please consider leaving a contribution to help fund this amenity.

Joyce Uptown Food Shelf joyfully receives Saint Paul’s weekly donations. The theme for December is our Reverse Advent Calendar: use the blue Advent Calendar bag (available in the Narthex) and follow the guide sheet inside, collecting and blessing one item each day of December. Drop off your donations in the bins at Saint Paul’s. Celebrate the season of giving!

General Announcements

In the bleak midwinter our Sexton does his best to have the sanctuary heated for us all to be comfortable during worship. At present, our heating system is not 100% operational and, on especially cold days, it may feel less comfortable. Please be assured that work is being done to resolve the issue, and thanks in advance for your cheerfulness and patience.
The slate of final candidates for the tenth Bishop of Minnesota has been determined: The Reverend Canon Abbott Bailey, and The Very Reverend Craig Loya. Learn more about the candidates here, and consider attending one of the forums on their road tripthrough the ECMN (online or in person) in January.
We have room in our lovely Beim House for several officing tenants. If you know of any non-profit organizations in need of space (up to four offices), please contact Junior Warden Beth Carlson.
The Episcopal House of Prayer in the City invites all to join for their weekly Contemplative Prayer Practice each Monday at 6:30pm in the Auxiliary Classroom. If you are new and would like an orientation, feel free to come at 6:00pm.
