This Sunday at Saint Paul's

Those who go out weeping, carrying the seed,
will come again with joy, shouldering their sheaves.  Psalm 126:7

Ninteenth Sunday after Pentecost

Celebrate the Eucharist with us at 10:00am. Gather in front of the Undercroft as we begin the the Liturgy of the Palms and process to the Nave, weather permitting. The service (from the Nave) will also be livestreamed on Zoom; you may view or download the bulletin here
Kids’ Bible Story Time will follow the liturgy for all littles–and not-so-littles–who are curious.

Our Maundy Thursday observancewith choir and organ will be held at 7:00PM in person and on Zoom, and will include the rituals of foot washing and stripping of the altar. The liturgy begins the Triduum (Three Days), when we remember Christ’s “new commandment” and his institution of Holy Eucharist.

Good Friday 12:00Noon: A brief spoken liturgry from the choir stalls commemorating the hours Lord hung on the cross.
Good Friday 7:00PM: This liturgy will be guided by printed fine art representations of the eight stations of The Way of the Cross with simple chants led by our choir.

Prayer Calendar

In the Anglican Cycle of Prayer, we pray for the Church of North India (United).

In the Diocesan Cycle of Prayer, we pray for the work of the House of Prayer and all spiritual directors serving in the Episcopal Church in Minnesota and for our members. We also pray for the parish of Saint Antipas (Redby).

Saint Paul’s weekly Parish Prayer List can be found here. If you wish to be contacted by a member of our Pastoral Care Team and/or priest, request prayers for yourself or someone else on the Parish Prayer List, or simply make someone aware of an acute or ongoing need, click the blue button below.

The Pastoral Care Team has a request for all: Take a few minutes every day to call someone to see how they are doing – to reach out and say a prayer with them and/or find out if they need anything. If there are those who need help, please let us know and we will figure out how to assist; if you are that person, please reach out to Reverend Ramona or Pat Trumbull. As Jesus said: Love one another.

Faith in Action

Saint Paul’s Little Library continues to be very popular with our neighbors, and the warmer the weather, the busier it becomes! Do you have any books you would be willing to donate to the library? We especially need newer titles in adult fiction and children’s picture books. Your donations can be placed in the red Books for Africa bin by the elevator on the ground floor, or by the red bookcase across the hall from the kitchen.

This is an important way we can connect with our neighbors, and your donations are very appreciated!

Resettlement Update 3/31:
Our sponsored family from Afghanistan is quickly settling into Minneapolis living! When needs arise they will be listed on their online shopping list – click it to check.

The Lenten Food Shelf Challenge:

April’s theme is PASTA AND SAUCE. Spring is here, but you may not sure what to cook- will it be spaghetti & meatballs weather, or time for Pasta Primavera? When you’re at the grocery store this month, grab some pasta and/or non-perishable jars of sauce for our neighbors who use the Food Shelf. Your generous donations may be placed in the baskets in the Narthex. Contact Laurie Larsen with questions.

No clearer moral imperative: A letter from Bishop Loya

“Beloved in Christ, the scenes that have unfolded in Afghanistan over the past few weeks have been heartbreaking for all of us. It is hard to watch the violence, the desperation and fear, and…” continue reading

A message from Joyce Uptown Food Shelf:

“Monetary donations are welcome! Right now we are doing a prepackaged food model, and so have a need for specific items. We can purchase food at our food banks much cheaper than you can purchase food right now: for every $1.00 donated we can purchase about $2.20 worth of food.”

Please visit their website and look for the yellow DONATEbutton on the home page.

YouthLink now has a wish list on Amazon for direct purchasing of needed items. If this is a more convenient option for you to help them, visit their list here.
