Upcoming Events and General Announcements:
A Coffee Hour for all: The Parish Life commission is creating a new model for hosting our post-worship gathering, and you’re all invited! Please read this announcement for all the refreshing details. See you after the service!
Saint Paul’s food donation ministry to start again: Beginning August 7, please make a habit of bringing a non-perishable food or personal care item to church as part of your weekly offering, where the baskets of donations will be presented at the altar each Sunday. Our gifts will be taken to Groveland Food Shelf in Minneapolis, earmarked for their special program of outreach to homeless youth. “I was hungry, and you gave me food…” Matthew 25:35
Did you hear the news??? The Vestry is very pleased to announce the appointment of the Rev. Barbara delCaro-Scaia to Saint Paul’s. Her first Sunday with us will be August 21, when she will worship with us “in the pew.” She will begin her duties as deacon August 28. Look for more information about Rev. Barbara –and about deacons in the Episcopal Church in Minnesota– in the August Messenger.
Save the Date: 11 September’s 10:00 a.m. service will feature a Blessing of the Backpacks. All teachers and students are invited to bring their book bags for a blessing as the new school year begins.
A Church Treasure Hunt will be held on 25 September after the worship service. Learn about the building and what we do in the various rooms. What’s in them? What are the rooms called? Why do we have special furniture and other churchy things? Adults and children will work in teams to find treasures and fill in the treasure map.
A big thank you to Lindsay Goodwin and Antrina Peterson Piche for organizing the children’s worship bags!
Sing Out! is a monthly gathering to sing and/or experience wonderful music, held at the Heritage Park Senior Services Center in Minneapolis. An open invitation and its details can be seen here.
Help beautify our sanctuary for worship: Give altar flowers to mark important occasions or significant events in your life. Drop your check in the offering plate or in the mail to Saint Paul’s, then write us a note or email, telling us your name, the date you wish to give flowers, and your desired dedication. Checks should be made out to “Saint Paul’s Episcopal Church”, with “altar flowers” in the memo; suggested donation is $50.
