E-pistle for Friday 27 May 2017

Saint Paul's ChurchChurch News, E-PISTLE

This Sunday at Saint Paul’s:

Make one, wear one: Don’t forget to stop at the nametag kiosk as you enter and leave church. Greetings are much more memorable with names!

Thank you to the Outreach Commission for hosting coffee hour. Next week: the Altar Guild.

Food and personal care items are collected each Sunday in the baskets at the Narthex doors and delivered to Groveland Food Shelf. Please consider bringing an item or two weekly as part of your offering. Our May theme is PAPER PRODUCTS, such as paper towels, napkins, toilet paper, paper cups, paper plates, tissues, and feminine hygiene products.

Hospitality 101: Hello, My Name Is…
If you’ve been to Sunday liturgies the past few weeks, you may have noticed the return of the name tag board; you might even say it has been “resurrected.” It has returned to help our new rector learn our names, and to create a more intentionally welcoming environment for people visiting our parish. If you haven’t already, please make a name tag when you next arrive at church, wear it during services and coffee hours, and then hang it under the initial of your last name so you can find it next week.

Choir Diary

  • Voluntary: Rhosymedre (Ralph Vaughan Williams)
  • Psalm: Psalm 68 (Peter Hallock)

Upcoming Events and General Announcements:

Families and Children, we need YOU! Before we hire a teacher and develop curriculum, we’d love to get input from both parents and children –your hopes and dreams– for the Christian Education program that will begin next fall. Join us for a brainstorming conversation on Sunday 4 June. The children will have their session with Father Marcus, and the adults will meet with Marcy Wegner, Vestry liaison from the Faith Formation Commission. Meet us outside the nursery at 9:15am , then we’ll split into our two groups. Doughnuts and other goodies will be provided.

Pentecost Party! The Faith Formation Commission will be hosting our next intergenerational education event after the liturgy next Sunday (4 June) in the Undercroft. There will be crafts, activities and treats for all ages! P.S. Don’t forget to wear RED!

Are you in the new online membership directory? And have you added your photo? It’s a great way for people (like a new rector) to learn your name! See Angie during coffee hour or email her with any questions.
