This Sunday at Saint Paul’s:

We welcome the Reverends Leonard Freeman and Lindsay Hardin Freeman to Saint Paul’s for one more week as Lydia wraps up her visit to Belize. While away, our Senior Warden is in charge of the parish; pastoral care concerns can be directed to the Rev. Mary Rowe (651-587-0438). Thank you both for your leadership these two weeks. Please greet them at coffee hour!

The Bread of Life: The Faith Formation Commission invites all to take part in today’s learning theme. See how many references to bread you can find during the service. Snack on various breads at coffee hour. And join us in the undercroft to help make communion bread after the service. All ages welcome!

Thank you to the Faith Formation Commission for hosting coffee hour. Next week: the Choir.

Food and personal care items are collected each Sunday and delivered to Groveland Food Shelf’s ministry to homeless youth. Please consider bringing an item or two weekly as part of your offering. They also have need of paper, plastic, and reusable bags.

    Upcoming Events and General Announcements:

Are you in the new online membership directory? Email notifications were sent to every Saint Paulite, inviting you to create an account for accessing your personal record with Realm, our new online church management system. When you activate your account, be sure to adjust the security settings so fellow parishioners are able to see your contact information! See Angie and her laptop during coffee hour with any questions.

A special Sunday liturgy is planned for 19 February to share our vision for outreach to the homeless. Rabbi Glaser from Temple Israel will give the homily, and the head of their outreach committee, Dean Goldberg, will give a presentation during coffee hour.

Outreach update: Over the next year, we are partnering with Temple Israel in their outreach to the homeless in the Twin Cities. They work primarily with YouthLink, The Bridge, and Families Moving Forward. Each time we get an alert for volunteers, we will share it with our Saint Paul’s family. Attached here are details for the month. On 28 February, YouthLink needs volunteers to help with their Black History Month Program. There are also some advocacy opportunities to get involved with affordable housing on 16 and 23 February, as well as 14 March.  If you wish to attend any of these, please RSVP to the names listed on the attached information sheet. Please also inform Prisca Cushman so we can plan car-pooling, or events specific to our church family centered around the opportunity.

A free Home Safety Check for senior citizens is offered by the Household & Outside Maintenance for Elderly (HOME) Program of Senior Community Services. They will assess the need for handrails, grab-bars, smoke detectors, lighting, and other home safety components. Elders aged 60+ residing in suburban Hennepin County and Minneapolis are eligible for this limited time offer. No sales. For more information call HOME at 952-746-4046 or email. Seniors outside of Hennepin County should contact the Senior Linkage Line at 1-800-333-2433 for information about services in their area.
